ARCURI TO HOST ANNUAL ACADEMY DAY

Information for High School Students Interested in Attending U.S. Service Academies

May 9, 2007

Washington, DC -- On Saturday, May 12th, U.S Representative Michael A. Arcuri (D-Utica) will host an information session for high school sophomores and juniors interested in applying to one of the five U.S. service academies.

Liaison officers representing each of the five U.S. service academies will be available to answer any questions students and parents may have about the application process, and to discuss campus life and the tradition of the academies.

“In today’s constantly changing world – with a complex global arena facing our country at every turn, we need the best and the brightest attending our nation’s service academies - and I’m confident the students of the 24th congressional district are up to that challenge,” Arcuri said. “Service academies offer not only the opportunity to serve our great country, but provide a world-class education. Academy Day is a valuable opportunity for students and their families to meet with representatives and learn more about the experience of attending these schools.”
