Outreach Opportunities:
Health Observances

Health observances are days, weeks, or months devoted to promoting particular health concerns. They are a great time to schedule special events and give you the opportunity to reach new people. Health professionals, teachers, community groups, employers, and others can use these special times to sponsor health promotion events, stimulate awareness of health risks, or focus on disease prevention. To help you find special times to educate your community about eye health, visit the National Health Information Center for a list of national health observances.

Visit the secure NEI publications catalog to find low vision materials that you can use during special observances to educate people about low vision.
