Projects: Interior and Environment
Below is a list of projects for the 4th Congressional District that was included at my request in the Fiscal Year 2008 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill (H.R. 2643). That bill eventually formed part of the end-of-the-year Consolidated Appropriations Act (Public Law 110-161).
Project: Durham Water Infrastructure Improvements
Funding: $ 492,200
Description: Funding for the City of Durham’s efforts to upgrade aging water and wastewater infrastructure to maintain compliance with federal standards.
Project: Western Wake Water Reclamation Facility
Funding: $ 492,200
Description: Funding for the Town of Cary – in collaboration with Apex, Morrisville and Holly Springs – to construct a new regional water treatment facility, including related pumping stations and force mains. The reclamation facility will increase wastewater treatment capacity and facilitate the discharge of treated wastewater to the Cape Fear River. The facility will serve all four communities.
