Eureka, August 15, 2008

Due to fire activities on Route 6 (6N06), the Federal Highways Administration and Brown Construction were unable to perform the repairs scheduled to be completed by August 1. The closure dates have been rescheduled for August 18 – 29. The road will be closed to through traffic from 700 a.m. to 5.00 p.m at mile post 1.9.

This road was damaged during winter storms in 2005. The Forest Service sought emergency relief from the Federal Highway Administration following these storms. These emergency relief funds will be used to repair this road. The Federal Highways Administration, who will be managing the repair work, awarded a contract to R. Brown Construction Company, Inc. from Willow Creek, California, to complete the repairs.
