Maryland Anemometer Loan Program

Maryland Anemometer Loan Program

Date: 9/1/2006

Location: MD

Contact: Crissy Godfrey

Phone: 410-260-7190

The program loans wind measuring devices to landowners, which allow landowners to quantify and characterize the wind resource available at their property. The program is designed to empower landowners by supporting their interest in wind energy through the loan of anemometers and wind vanes and providing education about wind energy development. The program has six anemometers; four will be mounted atop 99 ft towers, and two will be mounted atop 164 ft towers that are supported by four sets of guy wires. The data collected allow landowners to assess the economic feasibility of using wind energy. Please see the Web site for a loan application.
