The number of Americans without health insurance increased by 1.4 millionin 2003, reaching a total of 45 million–the largest number of uninsured ever recorded.  That is an atrocious number and even those with health insurance now tell me that they do not feel secure with our current health system.  They are worried about losing their coverage, being denied coverage for care they need, or not being able to afford drugs or other services not covered by their insurance.

I happen to believe that every child of God has a right to quality affordable health care when they need it without begging.  All Americans need to know that when they get sick, they can get the tests and the treatment their doctors think they need without being blocked by bureaucrats in government or insurance companies who often put dollars ahead of fairness.

And,this country needs to reconsider how we deal with drug companies so Americans aren’t asked to continue to pay more than our fair share for drug development.
