Agriculture is at the heart of Wisconsin’s economy and heritage. And dairy has been at the heart of our agriculture industry. Wisconsin’s emphasis on making high quality products is why our dairy products are sought around the country for their great taste. But great taste and quality is not limited to our dairy industry, either – Wisconsin’s cranberries, potatoes, soybeans, and a variety of other important crops shared by people across the United States are ranked among the best in the nation.
Wisconsinites also recognize how vital the $30 billion livestock industry is to our economy. I am proud of the fact that Wisconsinis a national leader in developing an effective animal tracking system and is breaking ground with new technologies to respond quickly and effectively to animal diseases.
