SECY-07-0051 - System Energy Resources, Inc. (Early Site Permit for Grand Gulf ESP)

The Commission ⁽¹⁾ approved a Memorandum and Order addressing its review of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board's Initial Decision directing the issuance of an Early Site Permit for the Grand Gulf ESP site (LPB-07-01). The Memorandum and Order authorizes the staff to issue the early site permit.

(Subsequently, on March 27, 2007, the Acting Secretary signed the Memorandum and Order.)

1. Section 201 of the Energy Reorganization Act, 42 U.S.C. Section 5841, provides that action of the Commission shall be determined by a "majority vote of the members present." Chairman Klein and Commissioners McGaffigan, Jaczko, and Lyons were present in the Conference Room. Commissioner Merrifield participated in the meeting via speakerphone.
