| SUBJECT: | STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEFING ON OCONEE LICENSE RENEWAL (SECY-00-0081), 9:30 A.M., TUESDAY, MAY 2, 2000, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE) |
The Commission was briefed by the NRC staff on the Oconee license renewal. The Commission will provide additional guidance on this matter in their votes and the Staff Requirements Memorandum on SECY-00-0081.
In future Commission briefings on the results of license renewal reviews, the staff should provide a slide summarizing the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) letter and staff plans for addressing any ACRS recommendations.
The staff should promptly advise the Commission of any delays in meeting its schedule for finalizing the License Renewal Standard Review Plan and Generic Aging Lessons Learned report, consistent with the guidance provided in the Staff Requirements Memorandum on SECY-99-148.
