| I. | SECY-00-0051 - Petition for Leave to Intervene in Proceeding Regarding Commonwealth Edison Request for Exemption at Zion Facility |
The Commission approved a Memorandum and Order denying the request of the petitioners', Randy D. Robarge and Edwin D. Dienethal, to grant them leave to intervene in the Commonwealth Edison Company request for an exemption for both units of the Zion facility from certain requirements in the NRC's regulations involving physical security. The Memorandum and Order denies the petitioners' request for intervention on the grounds that (1) the Atomic Energy Act does not mandate that a hearing be offered on an exemption request, and (2) the petitioners have not demonstrated their standing to request a hearing.
(Subsequently, on March 30, 2000, the Secretary signed the Memorandum and Order.)
| II. | SECY-00-0065 - International Uranium (USA) Corporation - Commission Affirmation of Presiding Officer Decisions Denying Envirocare's Petitions for Intervention |
The Commission approved an Order affirming the Presiding Officer's decisions in LBP-99-11 and LBP-99-20 which dismissed Envirocare for lack of standing to intervene in two separate license amendments requested by International Uranium (USA) corporation.
(Subsequently, on March 30, 2000, the Secretary signed the Order.)
