SUBJECT: | STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEFING ON EVALUATION OF THE REQUIREMENT FOR LICENSEE TO UPDATE THEIR INSERVICE INSPECTION AND INSERVICE TESTING PROGRAM EVERY 120 MONTHS (SECY-00-0011), 9:30 A.M., FRIDAY, MARCH 24, 2000, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE) |
The Commission was briefed by representatives of the Nuclear Energy Institute, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards, and the NRC staff on the requirement for licensees to update their inservice inspection and inservice testing program every 120 months.
The Commission requested additional information from ASME concerning the States that require use of ASME codes.
There were no requirements identified for staff action. The Commission will provide further guidance on this issue in the staff requirements memorandum on SECY-00-0011.
