| SUBJECT: | STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEFING ON IMPROVEMENTS IN THE REACTOR OVERSIGHT PROCESS (SECY-00-0049), 1:00 P.M., TUESDAY, MARCH 7, 2000, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE) |
The Commission was briefed by the NRC staff on improvements in the reactor oversight process. A panel of stakeholders, including representatives of the Nuclear Energy Institute, Public Service Electric and Gas, the Union of Concerned Scientists, the State of New Jersey, and the Pilot Plant Evaluation Panel, also participated in the meeting.
At the meeting, there were no requirements identified for staff action. The Commission will provide guidance on improvements in the reactor oversight process in the context of Commission consideration of SECY-00-0049, "Results of the Revised Reactor Oversight Process Pilot Program."
