          CHAIRMAN JACKSON: Good morning ladies and gentlemen.  This is an
Affirmation Session.  We have two items to come before us this morning.  Before I
ask the Secretary to lead us through the items for affirmation, do any of my
colleagues have any opening comments they wish to make?
          COMMISSIONER DIAZ:  No.
          COMMISSIONER McGAFFIGAN: No.
          CHAIRMAN JACKSON:  If not, Mr. Secretary, please proceed.   
          MR. HOYLE: Thank you, Chairman Jackson.  The first item is SECY-98-
214.  This regards the Baltimore Gas & Electric Company Calvert Cliffs case.  The
Commission is being asked to act on an Order addressing the National
Whistleblowers Center's September 11 petition for review of the August 27 Board
Order denying the Center's motion for enlargement of time within which to submit
contentions.  The Order grants an extension until September 30.  Each of you has
voted to approve the Order.  I ask you to affirm your votes.
          CHAIRMAN JACKSON:  Aye.
          CHAIRMAN DIAZ.  Aye.
          COMMISSIONER McGAFFIGAN:  Aye.
          MR. HOYLE: Thanks. The second is SECY-98-216.  This is regarding the
North Atlantic Energy Corporation Seabrook case.  The Commission is taking sua
sponte review of LBP-98-23.  To exercise its inherent authority over adjudications
and

review the segmentation issue and the Board's intervention rulings, the Order
requests the parties to provide briefs on all issues relevant to segmentation and
intervention and specifically brief two Board statements.  Each of you has voted
to approve this Order. Please affirm your votes.
          CHAIRMAN JACKSON: Aye.
          COMMISSIONER DIAZ:  Aye.
          COMMISSIONER McGAFFIGAN: Aye.
          MR. HOYLE.  Thank you.
          CHAIRMAN JACKSON.  Is there anything else to come before us this
morning?
          MR. HOYLE.  Not this morning.    
          CHAIRMAN JACKSON:  If not, we stand adjourned.
