3 CHAIRMAN JACKSON: Well, good afternoon.
4 This is an affirmation session. We have two items
5 to come before us this afternoon.
6 Before I ask the secretary to lead us through the
7 items for affirmation, do either of my colleagues have any
8 opening comments?
9 If not, Mr. Secretary, please proceed.
10 MR. HOYLE: The first item is SECY 98-210. The
11 Commission is being asked in this paper to act on an order
12 in the Hydro Resources proceeding in which the Commission
13 takes suaspante review of LBP 98-9 in order to provide
14 immediate Commission guidance in an area of concern found
15 admissible by the presiding officer.
16 Each of you has voted to approve a memorandum and
17 order which reverses the presiding officer's decision to
18 admit as an area of concern failure to obtain proper permits
19 from the Navaho nation.
20 I ask you to affirm your votes.
21 COMMISSIONER DIAZ: Aye.
22 COMMISSIONER McGAFFIGAN: Aye.
23 CHAIRMAN JACKSON: Aye.
24 MR. HOYLE: Thank you.
25 The second is SECY 98-212. The Commission is
4
1 being asked in this paper to act on our order responding to
2 a petition from three individuals who are members of the
3 Chattooga River Watershed Coalition to intervene in the
4 Oconee license renewal proceeding.
5 The order refers the petition to the Atomic Safety
6 and Licensing Board for appropriate action and provides
7 guidance for the conduct of the proceeding if a hearing is
8 granted.
9 Each of you has provided your vote on this order.
10 I ask you to affirm your votes.
11 COMMISSIONER DIAZ: Aye.
12 COMMISSIONER McGAFFIGAN: Aye.
13 CHAIRMAN JACKSON: Aye.
14 MR. HOYLE: Thank you.
15 CHAIRMAN JACKSON: Is there anything else to come
16 before us this afternoon? If not, we're adjourned.
17 Thank you.
