The Commission was briefed by members of the NRC staff on progress in the use of performance assessment analyses in evaluating long-term performance of low-level waste disposal, high-level waste disposal, and site decommissioning. Although there were no formal requirements identified for staff action, the Commission encouraged the staff to continue to develop the performance assessment program and to interact and share the knowledge gained in this program with others in the NRC who are developing PRA models.
