MEMORANDUM FOR: John F. Cordes, Director
Office of Commission Appellate Adjudication
FROM: Annette L. Vietti-Cook, Secretary /RA/
SUBJECT: STAFF REQUIREMENTS - AFFIRMATION SESSION, 1:25 P.M., WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2003, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)
  1. SECY-03-0170 - Pacific Gas & Electric Co. (Diablo Canyon Power Plant Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation); Petitions for Review of LBP-02-23 and LBP-03-11

The Commission approved a Memorandum and Order responding to the County of San Luis Obispo and six intervenors led by the San Luis Obispo Mothers for Peace petitions for review of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board's decisions in LBP-02-23 and LBP-03-11 that, cumulatively, rejected challenges to an application by Pacific Gas & Electric Company to construct and operate an independent spent fuel storage installation in San Luis Obispo, California. The Memorandum and Order denies the petitions for review.

(Subsequently, on October 15, 2003, the Secretary signed the Memorandum and Order.)
