United Nations Top Climate Negotiators Appear Before Global Warming Panel
WASHINGTON – With all eyes focused on the ‘global’ part of global warming this week, both at the United Nations and here in Washington, Chairman Edward J. Markey and the Select Committee on Energy Independence & Global Warming will host key climate negotiators tomorrow at a special briefing. The distinguished panel will feature German minister of the environment and three Special Envoys to the UN on climate change, two of whom are former heads of state. This comes on the heels of an encouraging session of the UN this week dedicated to global warming, and in advance of a meeting the President has called with the top emitters of global warming pollution in the world. The President skipped the UN session, however, even though that has been the leading international body on global warming progress.
