How can I collaborate with Reclamation-sponsored research?

We welcome opportunities to work in partnership with other government agencies, universities, the private sector, other research organizations, and our stakeholders that have the same common passion of finding and using innovative solutions for our stakeholders that will make a difference for water in the west. Partnering brings efficiency and effectiveness of the research investment to best meet stakeholder and taxpayer values. The Technology Transfer Act of 1986 encourages and enables us to work in partnership with others to expedite the production, commercialization, and use of federal research results. Our research is focused on the needs of our stakeholders which are Reclamation water and facility managers and the external water users and water managers served by Reclamation project waters. If you are not a Reclamation employee and are interested in collaborating with us on our mission-focused research, contact the Focus Area Lead associated with the R&D Focus Area of your choice.

We are looking for collaborators that can bring unique capabilities and expertise, in-kind services, facilities, or funding resources to partnered projects. Partnering with Reclamation sponsored research provides our collaborators access to the largest water resource end-user organization in the country and to our unique expertise and capabilities.

We concentrate on practical solutions and tools that our stakeholders value and use. We bring together our well experienced engineers, scientists, and field-based resource managers to develop on-the-ground solutions to western water resource issues. We rely heavily on the contributions of others, and on the basic research performed by other water resource organizations as an ingredient in our applied research mission's success. As such, we are an effective portal to basic research organizations, the private sector and others that are looking for end-user value and use of your capabilities.
