The city of Phoenix is in the process of preparing its 2009-10 budget, which will include reductions to city programs and services of more than $162 million. Residents are invited to attend community hearings, two locations of which have changed, in order to accommodate more residents. The P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon and One-Half Marathon returns to Phoenix on Sunday, Jan. 18 and will impact downtown Phoenix in a number of ways. “Catch BookBreath @ your Phoenix Public Library,” kicks off Jan. 12 and runs through March 14 at all library locations.
Children up to 18 years old are eligible to participate in the program - find out how they can earn prizes by spending time reading or listening to books.
The city's family services centers are accepting donations of blankets and new, warm clothing items for the community's homeless living on the streets.
