Tincup Trail #1117
This trail is located in the
Biscuit Fire area that burned in the year 2002
Although Forest Service trail crews have been repairing
and maintaining many of the affected trails since the Biscuit
Fire, visitors should take into consideration (because
of the substantially increased risk of fire-killed snags
falling) that travel and camping may be more difficult
and require greater concern for safety.

Description: View a mixed hardwood-conifer
forest along a low elevation rolling trail with access to Mislatnah and
Upper Chetco Trail and the Kalmiopsis
Wilderness. A steep,
narrow trail provides access to the Chetco
River across Boulder
Creek. Another portion of the Tincup
Trail (Illinois Valley Ranger
District) which does not connect to this segment but does connect
to the Kalmiopsis
Rim Trail, is located at higher elevation on
the eastside of the wilderness.
Access: The trail is located 30 miles
northeast of Brookings, Oregon. From Highway 101 take County road
784 (North Bank) to Forest Service road 1376 to spur road 1376-360
to the end of spur road 1376-365.
