Risk Management Plan
Section 112(r)(7) of the Clean Air Act (CAA) mandates that EPA promulgate regulations and develop guidance to prevent, detect, and respond to accidental releases. The regulations are codified in 40 CFR Part 68. Stationary sources covered by these regualtions must develop and implement a risk management program that includes a hazard assessment, a prevention program, and an emergency response program. The risk management prgram must be described in a risk managemnt plan (RMP) that must be registered with EPA. The first RMP submission software (RMP_Submit) was available to the public in February 1999. EPA is in the process of revising the regulations and a new version of RMP_Submit will be available in the URL above.
