The Child Welfare program is administered and delivered by the Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) of the Department of Human Services (DHS). About 1155 state employees in 83 county offices provide the services. The Division of Children and Family Services encompasses the following services:Child Protective Services, Supportive Services, Foster Care Services and Adoption Services. The Crimes Against Children Division of the Arkansas State Police operates the Child Protective Services Hotline and handles Priority One investigations. All other investigations are handled by the Division and staff located in DHS county offices around the state. The Division provides In-Home Services, Foster Care, Adoption, and Child Welfare Licensing: This unit inspects and monitors Residential, Emergency, Psychiatric, Sexual Offenders programs, and Placement agencies in accordance with the Minimum Licensing Standards for Child Welfare Agencies. The Division`s primary information system is the Children`s Reporting and Information System (CHRIS). |
