Functional Description North Dakota Department of Human Services (NDDHS) is charged with developing policy, but administration of the Child Care, Medicaid, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program are performed by counties under supervision of the State. 
Interfaces Food Stamps, Medicaid, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families interfaces with Child Support Enforcement, Internal Revenue Service, Job Service of North Dakota, and Social Security Administration. The Child Care system has two interfaces. One is a federal reporting system and the other is the State Accounting Management Information System (SAMIS). External Interfaces: Local Benefits Issuance, Dept. of Corrections, Law Enforcement, Financial Institutions Vendor systems (process coll/disb front-end systems, finger imaging) Purchasing, State Treasury

Application Future Plans Healthy Steps (SCHIPS) - the system is currently being developed to include Healthy Steps. Anticipated date to go live is May 2005. Food Stamps program will be moved from TECS to Vision some time in the future. A date has not been set for that at this time.
