Purpose
To reimburse peer reviewers who participate in initial peer review meetings.
Procedure
As of January 17, 2009, NIH is using the Secure Payee Reimbursement System (SPRS) to electronically reimburse peer reviewers for honoraria and expenses from participating in peer review meetings.
SPRS replaces the U.S. Treasury Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
Reviewers must register with SPRS through the eRA Commons and maintain current address and banking information in the system to ensure timely disbursements.
The guidelines discussed here are for reviewers with domestic bank accounts. Foreign nationals who live outside the U.S. and have no U.S. bank account should click “My permanent residence is outside the U.S. and I do not have a U.S. bank account” in SPRS.
