Functional Description Major Functions (Online): The online portions of EPICS support functions of Case/Client Registration and Maintenance, Case Management, Trial Eligibility, Overpayments/Underpayments, and various other functions. The EPICS System contains 150 online screens.(Batch): The batch portions of EPICS support functions of Eligibility, Triggers processing, Alerts setting and processing, Benefits processing, Outgoing & Incoming Data Interfaces, Client Notices, and State and Federal Reporting 
Interfaces The User Interfaces for the EPICS System include Child Care, Payment System, Vital Statistics, Energy Assistance, and the Idaho Departments of Transportation and Labor. Data is interfaced with Foster Care, Child Support, FISCAL (Department accounting system), Medicaid Automated Information Management System (AIMS), the Idaho Department of Labor plus federal agencies of IRS, Social Security Administration (SSA), and Food and Nutrition Services (FNS).

Application Future Plans The Medicaid Eligibility portion of EPICS will be rewritten from Case-based eligibility to client-based eligibility. This Project Initiation phase is scheduled to start in May 2001. Chris Werner is the Project Manager for the Medicaid Eligibility rewrite
