Functional Description	Local child care assistance administrators (grantees of the State) use CCMIS to record family demographic data, income, and participation in eligible activities for child care assistance applicants who do not participate in a TANF program. CCMIS determines family eligibility and co-pay amounts, and issues child care authorizations to eligible child care providers who have been entered into the system. CCMIS is the maintainence data base of eligible child care providers and their rates.

Application Future Plans	The Department of Health and Social Services is in the process of developing a web based management information system that serves the needs of child care licensing and all Child Care Assistance Programs (including TANF child care). The proposed system is in development; it will be piloted in October 2004.
