Functional Description The State Department of Health is responsible for Child Care licensing. The private Child Care Resource and Referral Agency maintains lists of approved Child Care providers and assists clients in finding providers or gaining approval of exempt providers.DWS operates 30 Employment Centers (ECs) statewide that are organized into five regions.

Certifications/Assessments   
Application Future Plans A new system, electronic Resource & Eligibility Product(eREP), is being developed which will replace PACMIS. The system is a Windows based program. Customers will have the ability to do an initial screening for services and complete an application online. Implementation is scheduled for 2006. 
Other Relevant Information The Public Assistance Case Management Information System (PACMIS) is used by all ECs and the State office to enter and track client activity, determine eligibility, calculate benefits, interface with multiple agencies and programs, perform financial functions, and produce reports.
