Dear Colleague:

Enclosed is the eighth update to the Federal Case Registry (FCR) Interface Guidance Document (IGD). The update describes the new and clarified functions of many components of the FCR. This update is crucial to maintaining your State’s Automated State System interface with the FCR.

To help in understanding those parts of the IGD that have changed, a chart is attached listing changes and the sections in the IGD where they are discussed (in some instances a change may be discussed in more than on place). Minor formatting and grammatical changes have also been made but are not included in the chart.

I draw your attention to two particularly important functions recently introduced in the FCR. First, the FCR Reconciliation File, implemented by DC-00-04 on January 13, 2000, is further described in Section 2.4.2.1, "FCR Reconciliation File," and Charts H-15 through H-18 of the IGD. Use of this file can assist States in assuring that your State Case Registry is interfacing correctly with the FCR. Secondly, the FCR now offers State the option of receiving some of all of its own State’s NDNH data in Proactive Matching. Details on this function, and the form to use to begin it, can be found in Section 2/5/2/2/2, "FCR Option to Receive Data Registration".
