DOCUMENTING PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT AND RECOGNITION SYSTEM TERMINATION ON AN SF 50

A model SF 50 remark statement is shown below. It would be placed in the remarks section of the SF 50 that documents the October 1993 merit increase (including one for zero dollars) for PMRS employees (in addition to any other necessary remarks).

Beginning November 1, 1993, pay plan code "GM" will identify employees covered by the PMRS termination provisions of Public Law 103-89. A GM employee will continue to be paid at his/her current rate of pay and will be eligible for within-grade increases (WGI's). The WGI waiting period begins the day this merit increase is effected.

In the case of an employee for whom a merit increase SF 50 is prepared, but who in fact does not receive a merit increase in October 1993 because of recent promotion (90-day rule) or leave without pay, the following model SF 50 remark statement would be appropriate.

Beginning November 1, 1993, pay plan code "GM" will identify employees covered by the PMRS termination provisions of Public Law 103-89. A GM employee will continue to be paid at his/her current rate of pay and will be eligible for within-grade increases (WGI's). The WGI waiting period begins the day the employee received his/her last equivalent increase.
