R&D Portfolio

The Industries of the Future process helps to ensure that scarce R&D resources are strategically allocated to maximize benefits. The Department of Energy's Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) provides cost-shared funding to selected research and development (R&D) projects that address industry-defined priorities, as well as national goals for energy and the environment. Projects focus on potentially high-payoff technologies that are too risky or costly to attract adequate private funding.

The extensive Aluminum Industry of the Future portfolio contains a multitude of both active and completed projects.
