AQMD's Office of Public Affairs’
mission is to promote public participation in and understanding of air
quality issues and policies. The office provides information regarding AQMD
regulatory and planning activities to the general public, businesses, local
governments, ethnic communities, and environmental organizations. Programs
include:
- Community Outreach- which emphasizes outreach to local communities,
small businesses, environmental education, school outreach and
environmental justice.
- Government Relations-
staff coordinates with city, state, and federal officials regarding air
quality policy and regulation and represents the agency in governmental
forums.
