Washington, DC -- Today the Republican Study Committee (RSC) named Congressman Steve Scalise, ‘communicator of the week’ for his leadership on the U.S. House Floor during this week’s debate on a national energy policy.

Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), the RSC Communications Chair made the following comment.

“Steve Scalise was named RSC Communicator of the Week for his leadership of House Republicans for the energy debate.  Steve is committed to easing the pain at the pump by giving Americans an ‘all of the above’ energy strategy that includes drilling for American oil on American soil.  Under his energetic floor leadership, Republicans are fighting the good fight to bring the price of gasoline down.”

Congressman Scalise, yesterday spoke on the House Floor against the Democratic Leadership’s energy bill that would limit new drilling areas and deny Louisianans millions of dollars in revenue sharing to restore our coast.

The Republican Study Committee is a group of over 110 House Republicans organized for the purpose of advancing a conservative economic and social agenda in the House of Representatives.
