Manager
Camille Yuan-Soo Hoo was appointed the Livermore Site Manager in
December, 2002 for the National Nuclear Security Administration of
the U.S. Department of Energy. She is responsible for the operations
oversight and contract administration of Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory. With a federal staff of approximately 100 FTEs, she
performs federal oversight of safety, security, infrastructure,
environmental management, and business and contract management of
the multi-program laboratory with an annual budget of approximately
$1.6 B.
From May 2000 to December 2002, Ms. Yuan-Soo Hoo was the Manager of
the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oakland Operations Office (OAK). As
Manager of DOE/OAK, Ms. Yuan-Soo Hoo was responsible for
approximately 330 federal employees and an annual budget exceeding
$2 billion. The principal mission of DOE/OAK was to serve the public
by performing Department of Energy contract management. Activities
included contract administration, site management and overseeing
operations of three California National Laboratories (Lawrence
Livermore National Laboratory, Lawrence Berkeley National
Laboratory, and Stanford Linear Accelerator Center).
From 1992 to 2000, Ms. Yuan-Soo Hoo served as the Field Chief
Financial Officer and Business Manager at OAK. In this capacity, she
provided leadership and direction for OAK in the areas of Budget,
Finance and Accounting, Business Evaluation, Information Management,
Personnel Management, Contractor Industrial Relations, and the
Financial Assistance Center. As the Field Chief Financial Officer
and Business Manager, she was responsible for implementing financial
and business policies and procedures for OAK and its contractors.
Ms. Yuan-Soo Hoo has over 30 years of management experience having
begun her career at DOE’s Richland Operations Office. She is a
graduate of the University of Washington’s Business Administration
Program.
