Ranking Member Smith: The resolution before us today establishes a task force to conduct an inquiry into whether U.S. District Judge Thomas G. Porteous should be impeached. I cannot say that I’m pleased by this resolution, as there’s nothing pleasant about having to investigate a public official who may have abused their office. However, I strongly believe that the Committee is doing the right thing.
