DOE has funded research for numerous technologies that have accelerated the development of diesel engines and improved their commercial viability. Light-duty diesel engines are poised to address issues of growing importance to the American public: improved fuel economy and lower greenhouse gas emissions. The DEER Conference is an opportunity to highlight DOE-funded research and development and has become a choice venue for engineers and scientists to exchange information and transfer technology more rapidly into the marketplace.
