Adam Ingols
Chief of Staff
On April 4, 2008 Adam Ingols was named Chief of Staff at the United States Department of Energy. As Chief of Staff, Mr. Ingols assists in managing the day to day operations of the Department of Energy, a $24 billion agency consisting of over 115,000 Federal and contract employees. He also serves as the immediate advisor of the Secretary on issues of policy, planning, and interagency coordination. Additionally, Mr. Ingols is responsible for managing the operations of the Office of the Secretary.
Before his appointment as Chief of Staff, Mr. Ingols served in the Office of the Secretary as Senior Advisor and Director of Strategic Outreach since 2005. Prior to his time at DOE, Mr. Ingols held various positions in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs. He began his career in Washington on Capitol Hill in 1999, working for the Speaker of the House of Representatives, J. Dennis Hastert.
Mr. Ingols is from Houston, Texas and is a graduate of Washington and Lee University. He and his wife, Abby, live in Arlington, Virginia.
