Justin R. Swift

Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Affairs

Justin R. SwiftJustin R. Swift is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Affairs in the Office of Fossil Energy.

Mr. Swift, a Washington, D.C., native, is responsible for oversight of export and import activities within the Office of Clean Coal and the Office of Oil and Natural Gas and Petroleum Technology.  He also participates in the activities of the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum, a coalition of 16 nations and the European Union dedicated to research and development that will allow continued reliance on fossil fuels while curtailing production of greenhouse gases.

He previously served as Director of Scheduling and Advance for Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham and worked in the Administrations of President George Herbert Walker Bush and President Ronald Reagan.  He holds a B.A. degree in economics from New Hampshire’s Franconia College and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.
