Persons under the age of 25 accounted for 45.0 percent of those arrested for all offenses, 44.8 percent of the persons arrested for violent crime, and 55.3 percent of the people arrested for property crime in the Nation’s suburban areas.
In 2007, individuals under 21 years of age accounted for 49.4 percent of all persons arrested for robbery and 31.2 percent of those arrested for forcible rape in suburban areas.
More than one-fourth (28.5 percent) of persons arrested for arson in suburban areas were under 15 years of age.
