In a comparison of 2006 and 2007 arrest data reported in metropolitan counties, the number of arrests decreased 1.0 percent.
The number of juveniles (persons under age 18) arrested in metropolitan counties declined 1.9 percent in 2007 when compared with 2006 data.
When compared with 2006 figures, the number of adults (persons age 18 and over) arrested in metropolitan counties declined 0.9 percent.
The number of arrests for violent crimes in metropolitan counties decreased 1.3 percent.
In metropolitan counties, the number of juveniles arrested for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter declined 6.3 percent, and the number of adults arrested for forcible rape decreased 9.0 percent.
A comparison of the number of arrests reported in metropolitan counties in 2006 versus 2007 for property crimes indicated an increase of 1.1 percent.
