Often times, Tennesseans have an individual issue or problem with a federal agency, whether it relates to obtaining a Medicare or Social Security check that was lost in the mail or not getting the Veterans benefits they are entitled to. 

Internships Internships

As an intern in Bart's Washington office, students assist in a wide range of activities, including conducting tours of the U.S. Capitol, assisting staff members with research projects, and responding to constituents' requests. 

Visiting Washington Visiting Washington

The nation's capital has countless tourist destinations and is an excellent place to visit any time of the year. While many of these destinations are free, a tour of the U.S. Capitol and White House require a Congressional reservation for a ticket.

All appointments with Bart and attendance by him at events are contingent upon the votes in the House and other official legislative business.

Bart's district offices can assist you in applying for a new passport, renewing a passport, and expediting the processing of a passport application.

Order a U.S. Flag Order a U.S. Flag

Bart's Washington office, through the United States House of Representatives, makes available American flags for purchase that have been flown over the U.S. Capitol. Also available are flags that have not been flown over the Capitol.

Page Program Page Program

The House Page Program offers a unique opportunity for junior and senior high school students to learn about Congress and the legislative process.  Pages, who are paid a monthly salary and live at the supervised Page Residence Hall near the Capitol, serve in either a summer session or a school-year semester session.

Service Academies Service Academies

All of the young people of Middle Tennessee are encouraged to apply for this high honor if they are physically fit, highly motivated, have high academic standards, leadership potential and a desire to serve their country.
