About us: Members of Sandia's Media Relations team help print, broadcast, and online news media throughout the world obtain the latest information about Sandia. The team regularly issues news releases. Many online releases include high-resolution images that members of the news media are welcome to download and publish with credit to Sandia National Laboratories.
Media Relations staff members respond to queries or direct members of the news media to appropriate sources within the Labs for additional information. While all staff members have a good general knowledge about Sandia's many technology areas, many have developed greater expertise in certain areas, as noted below. Michael Padilla is Sandia's media relations team leader at
Sandia's headquarters near Albuquerque, New Mexico. He directs
or responds to general news media requests for information
about Sandia and coordinates day-to-day media relations activities.
He specializes in nonproliferation, and international cooperative
programs.

Anita Romero oversees Sandia's internal Feedback Program and serves as the Emergency Public Information Coordinator.
She works closely with Sandia's Emergency Management organization
in the development of exercises and drills to test Sandia's
ability to respond during emergencies. She is also a liaison
with different entities from the City of Albuquerque and other
agencies to ensure that Sandia employees and the public have
timely information in the event of an emergency.
