Real Cases:

  Immigration

  A constituent contacted our office in an effort to bring his wife/fiance to the United States from Russia, where she resided. We asked the Department of Homeland Security to expedite her application to the Embassy due to health concerns. Once at the Embassy, we asked them to expedite her interview due and her application was processed within a few months, rather than a few years.

  Internal Revenue Service

 A constituent contacted our office because she had failed to receive her tax refund for two consecutive years. On her behalf, we contacted the Taxpayer Advocate's office and found out that additional information was required for the IRS to process her refund. Once we forwarded this information to the IRS, she received her refund in a timely manner.

  Social Security

 A constituent contacted our office because they were due two years worth of back disability pay that they were unable to get Social Security to release. We contacted the payment center, on behalf of our constituent, to find out what the problem was and get it resolved. The back pay was released.

A constituent had been diagnosed with terminal cancer but was told it would be 90-120 days to get their disability case approved. We were able to get the proper medical information to Social Security to have the case approved within the month.

  Veterans Administration

A constituent had been unable to get his military records from the National Personnel Records Center. We were able to make the request and get the needed records.

A constituent had been unable to get a needed appointment at one of the VA hospitals. We were able to make a contact and get the appointment.

  Federal Workers Comp

A constituent had been having problems getting workers comp to pay his medical bills. After contact our office, we were able to send copies of the bills and get them paid.

 Military

 A soldier came into our office, requesting to be moved into the Army Married Couples Program with his wife who is also in the military. We contacted our liaison and were able to get this done for them.
 
A retired soldier came in requesting a copy of his DD-214 that was lost in the flood. We were able to make this request and get the DD214 replaced.
