US National Assessment of
the Potential Consequences
of Climate Variability and Change
National Center for Atmospheric Research,
CSM Maps

The following figures are from the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) CSM Business-as-Usual and Stabilization scenarios.  Temperature is mean screen temperature and is mapped as a delta.  Precipitation is mapped as percent difference, which is  (future-modern)/modernx100.  The differences between the two scenarios are plotted similarly.  The time series, which have been filtered to eliminate less than 4 year variations, show that the large precipitation increase in the southwest is a factor of decadal variance, and not of any larger trend of increasing precipitation in that region.  Maps were created by Aiguo Dai at NCAR.
