Lincoln County is located in northeast Wisconsin and was created in 1874 from Marathon County.  At one time Lincoln County included most of what are now Oneida and Vilas Counties and parts of Langlade, Taylor, Price, and Iron Counties.  The current size of Lincoln County was established by 1885.  It was named after President Abraham Lincoln, our 16th President. 


The county seat is Merrill.

Land Area:     883 square miles
