Iowa Small Business Owners from Anamosa, Cedar Falls, Elkader Testify before Braley’s Subcommittee PDF Print

9_24_08_sb_hearing.jpgWashington, DC - Small business owners from Anamosa, Cedar Falls, and Elkader traveled to Washington today to testify before House Small Business Subcommittee hearing on ‘Small Business Recovery from the Midwest Disasters of 2008'.  Rep. Braley (D-Iowa) chairs the subcommittee.

Braley invited several Iowa residents to travel to Washington and testify before his subcommittee.  Those testifying include (left to right):  Mr. Mike Tully, President and CEO of Aerial Services, Inc. in Cedar Falls, IA; Mr. David Wilke, Owner of Wilke's Grocery Store in Elkader, IA; Mr. Don Bowers, Owner of Tapken's Convenience Plus in Anamosa, IA; Mr. Mike Monnahan, President of the Blue Strawberry Coffee Company in Cedar Rapids, IA; and Mr. Randy Pilkington, Executive Director of Business and Community Services at the University of Northern Iowa. 

Witnesses discussed their experiences recovering from the Midwest disasters and what the Small Business Administration can do to help Iowa's businesses recover.
