Department of Justice Responds to Braley Pressure to Hold Agriprocessors Accountable PDF Print

Washington, DC - Late yesterday, the US Department of Justice responded to repeated requests by Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa) inquiring about the status of a reported US Department of Labor investigation into workplace safety violations at Agriprocessors, Inc., Postville plant, and inquiring about whether federal officials were investigating possible criminal violations by Agriprocessors.

 

In their response, the DOJ confirms that an investigation is "continuing."  Additionally, the DOJ states that they are coordinating efforts with the US Department of Labor and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
