Braley Staff Has Helped Several Veterans Recover Lost Medals
Washington, Jun 3 - Today, Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa) announced that staffers from his Waterloo office are available to help obtain replacement service medals for Iowa veterans impacted by last week's devastating tornado. Braley's office frequently works with the Department of Defense to obtain replacement service medals (like the Purple Heart) for veterans who have lost the originals because of fire, flood, or other disasters. "As the Iowans impacted by last week's tornado begin the process of rebuilding, veterans should know that my office can help get replacements for service medals that the tornado swept away," Braley said. "This is just another way that Iowans can use my office as a resource to help their recovery from the impact of the storm." Braley staff are holding office hours in communities impacted by the tornado every week for the remainder of June to open casework and answer questions about available federal disaster assistance. Veterans who want to inquire about replacement medals should contact Tavis Hall, Veterans Affairs Caseworker, in Rep. Braley's Waterloo office at (319) 287-3233. |
