Receiving and Quarantine

The primary function of the Receiving and Quarantine Facility is to protect the health of the NCI-Frederick animal facilities. This facility holds and tests a variety of animal models that have been requested for importation by investigators to ensure that these strains are not harboring undesirable organisms prior to release into the animal facilities. The staff works closely with investigators to establish a timeline for holding, testing, and rederivation if necessary. The length of quarantine will depend on the source of the shipment and the accompanying health report.

The Laboratory Animal Sciences Program would like to ensure that you are satisfied with the services provided by our Receiving and Quarantine [R&Q] Facility. Please use this R&Q survey form if you have suggestions for improvement or general comments regarding your request.
