The Business Council of Westchester County, New York and ConEdison Solutions, a national energy services company that provides competitive power supply and related services, have partnered to offer Council member businesses and affiliated households the option to purchase green power. By switching to ConEdison Solutions as their energy provider, members can choose green power among other options. Residential customers will pay 1¢/kWh above standard rates for a blend of wind and hydro power and 2.5¢/kWh above standard rates for pure wind power. For households and small businesses, some of this green power premium can be offset by utility discounts for switching providers, under a state program designed to encourage energy choice.
