Laboratory of Molecular Technology (LMT)

The LMT provides cutting-edge genomic expertise, tools and analysis with a focus on quality and service. We succeed when our customers succeed, and are committed to helping the NCI and scientific community understand, treat and eradicate both cancer and disease.

DNA Sequencing Laboratory
The LMT DNA Sequencing Laboratory provides standard and high-throughput sequencing, BAC sequencing, bi-sulfite sequencing, SNP/micro-satellite genotyping, library construction/arraying, data storage/retrieval, and data analysis capabilities.

Genomics Laboratory
The current focus of the LMT Genomics Laboratory is prostate cancer prognostics and the development of new technology platforms for SNP genotyping, mutation detection, and clinical diagnosis. The Genomics Laboratory offers standard "Taqman" SNP genotyping and also customized SNP genotyping using the Amplifluor SNP Genotyping System on an ABI PRISM 7900HT Sequence Detection platform.

Microarray Laboratory
The LMT Microarray Laboratory provides complete microarray services for all Affymetrix and Agilent commercial microarrays (mRNA expression, miRNA expression, SNP genotyping, and aCGH) as well as 'in-house' developed microarrays, including a cancer gene sequencing microarray, virus microarray, aCGH microarray, miRNA microarray, and monoclonal antibody microarray. A custom microarray service is also offered, printed either 'in-house' or via commercial contract.

Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory
The CLIA certified LMT Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory provides state-of-the-art clinical and research diagnostics, including mutation detection, single nucleotide polymorphism analysis, and pathogen detection.
